Work Life Balance
We all know the benefits of maintaining a good work life balance. Happier families, close friends, staying on top of the ‘to-do’ list, a sense of satisfaction and well-being, both physical and mental, and better on the job work performance as a result.
What many of us are not so good at is managing our time and energy so that we achieve these desirable outcomes.
In our business and personal lives, here are some of the things we have concentrated on in tackling the problem of being busy, needing time to rest and yet still meeting our commitments to others.
The principle we apply in our plumbing practice is that good maintenance is better than back-tracking to do emergency repairs. This also applies to other areas of our lives.
The only way to keep a family on track is to invest time in them. Children need you now in a way that they won’t in twenty years. You need quality time to spend with your partner too, or they might not be there in twenty years’ time either. Your parents might be gone in twenty years too, but for different reasons. And regret is an emotional drain that can rob you of your drive to perform.
The key to successfully balancing your work/life commitments is to manage your time and priorities and to do so in a disciplined manner. This is an effort in itself, but one that brings superlative results.
You build your business for the benefit of your family, your community and for the personal satisfaction that it brings.
Avena Plumbing & Drainage can help you with your ‘to-do’ list for all those outstanding plumbing problems around your property that bother you daily, but the rest is up to you!
